Adwords180 is not an e-book for newbies who don’t already have basic affiliate marketing knowledge. If it is the first time that you hear of AdWords, you may want to get something covering the basics first.

It’s not just old rebashed AdWords strategy either, and all the techniques taught have never been revealed before. Consider this: The author is not happy if he’s not getting 20% CTR and has to pay more than 5 cents per click! Did you think it is impossible?

The heart of the book is a technique called the AdWords180 Plan. The first half of this 78-page book is the lead-up to this plan; the second half describes and dissects it in detail.

Most AdWords guides focus almost exclusively on maximizing the profitability of ads in the search network (the right-hand column of Google’s search results page).

Instead of using the search network, the AdWords180 Plan focuses entirely on the content network (AdSense publishers’ sites), and how to use site-targeted ads instead of keyword-targeted ads to drive traffic to your site. The trick is selecting the right sites to target with your advertisements.

Revealing any more details of the technique would be threading on commercial secrets and it would not be fair to the author. The author claims that clickthrough rates (CTRs) of 20% to 30% are easily achievable with this technique with a per-click cost of only 5 cents or less. In fact, it’s possible to get clicks that cost you less than 1 cent using this technique. The technique is discussed in extensive detail, with precise instructions, for over 30 pages.

The plan does not require you to generate long lists of obscure keyword variations. No special software is needed; you do it all with a couple of browser windows.

To put it simply, in most normal procedures, AdWords advertisers, being affiliates for someone else’s products, had to first go and choose a program to promote, create their keyword lists, then test on AdWords to find out if the program is profitable for them.

How to grow your list offline.

Just like in the online world, you only want to collect the e-mail addresses of people who want to receive your e-mails offline, and there are many opportunities to get a new subscriber in the “real world”:

* People calling you by phone to ask questions

You can take subscribers by phone. Come up with a short pitch/explanation of what you’re offering via e-mail (just like you would on your website) and ask for their e-mail address. Put them in a spreadsheet and import the new addresses daily or every couple of days.

* Visitors to your physical store

Restaurants, bars, doctor’s offices…if you have people coming in person to see you, ask if they’re already getting your specials/newsletter/other information. If they’re not already subscribed, have a sign-up sheet that they can fill out, or give them a card with the URL of your site/opt-in form so they can sign up there.

* Conferences, trade shows, etc.

If you have a booth at a trade show, or are going to a conference, you’re bound to get a lot of business cards. Just like on the phone, come up with an “elevator pitch” for your list. When you’re talking to someone and they hand you their business card, make your pitch. If they accept, write “Subscribe” or “Yes” on the card. When you get back from the event, import the addresses of the people who accepted.

With so many situations that you can encounter offline, it’s easy to think that it’s OK to add a given person to your list, when in fact they haven’t given you permission to e-mail them.

Our personal practice has always been to treat fresh leads as COLD leads. Never presume people are already warm to you on first encounter. It is always better to prepare an introductory message as a courtesy call and leads filter, describing:

1) yourself, your business and the benefits of your products and services,
2) how you get their e-mail addresses or contact number in the first place (just to remind them)
3) and a call-to-action asking them to proactively subscribe to your list to learn more about your business.

With regards to point 3, “some will, some won’t, so what? NEXT!” Some cold leads will remain cold and fall out. You may like to mail them a second time, but not anymore than that.

The whole point of the activity is to qualify leads for future prosperity. In this manner, patience does pay.

After this, it’s all about following up, getting your prospects more interested in what you have to say with every precious e-mail being sent, and it has to be done consistently too.

It not only demonstrates you are not a dormant marketer, it is also less likely your subscribers will forget you. But the truth about human nature is both attention span and memories are very short.

An e-mail address collected yesterday is far more valuable than one collected a month ago.

The more time that passes between someone giving permission to e-mail them, and when you actually start e-mailing them, the less likely they are to remember that they gave you permission to begin with and still want your information today.

This is especially true for offline subscribers because they may not have been to your website before, and so they won’t recognize your URL right away like an online subscriber can.

So don’t wait more than a couple of days to subscribe people to your list once they give you that offline permission.

Did you know that having your own responsive opt-in e-mail list means you will always have money in your pocket even if your marketplace were to totally disappear?

The most important part of your business is your list. This is your database of customers and prospects who are interested in what YOU have to offer. They are your very own ‘herd’ of people who follow you around and want to hear from you, learn from you and eventually buy from you.

After all, you are the person they know, like and trust who provides them with the valuable information, products and services they are seeking.

If you didn’t have a list, and your marketplace were to dry up and disappear tomorrow, what would you be left with?

You got it. Nothing. Because without customers, you don’t have a business. You’d have to begin again from scratch.

Since paying customers make your business profitable, the first thing you’d have to do is find a targeted audience of potential customers.

But with your very own opt-in e-mail list—one that you have taken the time to nurture and build a relationship with—you’d be in a much different position.

Even if your product or service were to dry up and disappear, you’d still have a list of customers and prospects with whom you have built a RELATIONSHIP. No matter what happens in the marketplace, that relationship will not just disappear.

Relationships, good relationships, last a lifetime. In business, that is the best kind of insurance you can carry. Plus, you don’t have to pay any monthly premiums!

In short, the relationships you have built with the people on your list remain, regardless of market fluctuations. So instead of finding a completely new customer base, all you have to do is determine what else the people on your list want and give it to them.

With a list, you still have a targeted audience of existing customers and potential customers to sell to. Having that receptive audience will make it much easier for you to “start over”.

I would like to share with you my experience in using viral products to create continuous traffic and subscribers for my online business.
