You wouldn’t have guessed who I got my very first eBay lessons from.
Does “Sydney Johnston” ring a bell?
When I first came into Internet Marketing 4 years ago, I hosted my first site with SiteSell. SiteSell has a solid range of e-books like “Make Your Site Sell!”, “Make Your Knowledge Sell!”, “Make Your Price Sell!” etc. and gives away Master Courses like “Service Sellers Masters Course”, “InfoProduct Masters Course”, “Affiliate Masters Course” etc.
One Masters Course is “Make Your Net Auction Sell!” which is written by Sydney Johnston and supposedly commissioned for SiteSell. The content may seem like ages ago but Chapter 16 alone is still worth the time reading, especially when it’s about how to sell stuff you don’t own, how to draft an option agreement with the owner and how to spot for product opportunities to sell on eBay. You can download this 229-page e-book.
** Speaking of product opportunities, I think it’s time we learn a lesson here: you’re better off selling high-end physical stuff on eBay than info-products. If you aren’t sure whether you’re up to the task, simply pick up ”How To Sell Anything To Anybody” by Joe Girard. Anything? Anybody? Don’t tell me he’s another old authority on the oldest profession. Mr. Girard is a Guinness Record-breaking living legend!
I’m saying this because since eBay has rewritten the rules for selling digital products, it crossed my mind to revisit “the source”. SiteSell as a company has successfully positioned itself to become the premium online business educator through the years. If anything, Sydney is at least an authority in eBay fundamentals who have made herself understood to all newcomers (with some promotional help from SiteSell). I have also published a 3-part article series written by her.
Auction Know How is where she is today as she teaches to every level of eBay practitioner: basic, beginner, intermediate and advanced. If you skip enough happy meals at McDonald’s, I’ll bet you’d be happier to invest in her programs. It’s that affordable.
She also has a higher-end Auction Genius Course—a 16-hour, 8 CD-ROM set comprising a complete auction training system that reveals many little-known techniques for finding profitable products for resale on eBay and ultimately build an auction business out of selling physical products.
eBay is one of the top 10 most popular websites and millions of people visit it every day to either buy or sell. Many sellers are hoping to earn the famous “big bucks” and so they simply throw an advertisement for their merchandise up on eBay…and then are tremendously disappointed by their results. They overlook the fact that eBay is a business, not a place for garage sales to get rid of unwanted stuff or to drive a bargain so hard that it works against you the seller when it eats into profits.
You can earn 6 figures on eBay if you choose to and I request that you allow yourself to learn from a master who has threaded the path before you so you too can achieve the status which a vast majority of sellers can only dream of: becoming a platinum PowerSeller.
