New era at eBay?

Posted April 1st, 2008. Filed under Auction And Dropshipping

I just got back from going up north to Malaysia to catch up with some personal friends, colleagues at MasteryAsia (working hard to get their training programs released on the Net. You’ll be the first to know), and basically rejuvenate myself by doing a bit of quick sightseeing. That’s why you haven’t heard from me in the past 2 weeks. Then again, if you have just joined in especially through Brad Smith’s Easter Giveaway, may I extend my warmest welcome to you by saying, “Thanks for visiting.” :)

Speaking of sightseeing, I’ll be going to Shantou (Swatow), Guangdong, China in the last week of May. I’ve never been to China so I’m pretty excited to immerse myself in a new environment and perhaps get a feel for what market and commercialism is there…

Well, coming back to my laptop sure forces me to clear all that news and e-mails and marketers all around are raising the alarm that eBay is making it much more difficult to sell digital products on its platform. If you’re an active eBay user, you wouldn’t have not learned of this piece of news.

Personally, I think this bodes well for the future of eBay marketing. I almost wanted to go into eBay using the infamous “1-cent tactic” to do lead generation, but somehow never got around doing it. Now looking back in the context of eBay rewriting the rules, it seems like that 1 cent can become very expensive as an opportunity cost imposed on all that time and effort spent.

Socrates Socratous and John Thornhill have been updating regularly through their blog posts or e-mails how they are reworking their business around eBay and honestly, it’s heartbreaking to read John’s latest subject title that goes, “I’ve closed my eBay store.” No matter how successful you can be, you’re still at the mercy of someone/thing else. Sounds familiar? Like AdW___/AdS___. :)

I look forward to present their information to you in coming days if you’re not their subscribers, and hopefully this signals a fresh new start for some of us wanting to put their best foot forward into eBay. Please feel free to comment on the steps you are taking to cope with the new eBay rules or how infopreneurs can better profit ethically from now on.

Scary Organization Hierarchy

Does your business look a little something like this today?

If it does, you definitely DON’T want it to remain as it is some years down the road. Unless you’re a glutton for long hours behind your PC or laptop, I’m betting that you would at least want to find out how it’s possible to generate more cash while doing less work, right? (As long as you at the top of the chart.)

My good friend Jeff Mills, an outsourcing expert and self-made millionaire, has shocked the community by spilling his guts in his new e-book, The Outsource Compendium.

And what’s even more shocking: he’s giving this thing away no strings attached!  Yes, Jeff reveals his resources and REAL actionable information that could have you working less and significantly more starting right now.

diggMotivator

Harris Fellman’s behind-the-scenes business partner, Richard Osterude has been working on a new digg-centric traffic-generating script called diggMotivator.

Right now Richard wants some testimonials before releasing it officially. To return a good favor for your testimonial he is pre-releasing it for the next 120 purchases at a reduced price. There are only 34 copies left at this time of writing.

If you think you could use a handy script to squeeze the maximum power out of Digg and get free traffic to your site, you ought to check it out.

This message should reach you in time because we just made a special arrangement to get you $20 access to an historic teleseminar on how to make your fortune from podcasts.

And because we’re co-sponsoring this teleseminar, you can attend as our special “VIP” guest for $20, not the $99 for the normal tuition.

–>>> What This Tele-Training Is NOT <<<–

This is certainly not going to be any “what kind of microphone should I use?” kind of training. Tech tutorials are easy. I don’t really know squat about podcasting myself, but I bet I could put together a decent tech tutorial with less than a full day of research. That stuff is always easy.

The hard part is ALWAYS “So how do I make any money with this stuff?”

That’s why Paul and Alex are the go-to guys on this topic. They know where the money is, how to reach prospects and what content will convince them to pay you for.

You are in for some serious business using the same easy-to-implement technologies that some kids use to talk about how to cheat at video games, except that you’re a little more money-savvy.

Podcasting is one of the very first multimedia channels to actually leave the house and follow people around. What I mean by that is, in a pure Internet Marketing business, every kind of interaction we have with people is done via the computer.

Their monitor is the window into whatever world we’re trying to show them. Webinars, PDFs, e-commerce sites, e-mail promos, videos…most people are still seated in front of the old gray box with mouse in hand when we talk to them.

With podcasting, that content ESCAPES the web and gives you the opportunity to interact with your consumers WHEREVER they are. They can take your audio and/or video WITH them on the road, or to the gym, or even get it on their phone to digest on the plane, train, or daily commute.

This is powerful, powerful stuff and it’s still a wide-open opportunity for businesses. If you’re already generating good content to promote your business, Paul and Alex are going to train you on how to boost sales and profits without spending an additional dime on advertising, simply by repurposing your content into a monetized podcast promotion strategy.
