Information Fortunes Exposed!

Whether you believe me or not, you do have an info-product inside you!

If you have been researching or involved in online business for very long, you have no doubt seen a multitude of offers for ‘e-books’, books, reports and training courses on every subject imaginable.

Why? Because information is the hottest product on the market! (At the foundational level, it’s actually the ONLY product, but that’s another course.)

Information cuts straight to the root of all selling, which is answering the customer’s question: “What will this product do for me?”

There’s another reason, though. Pure information is a product that doesn’t require a huge financial overhead to produce—other than the hard knocks you got in gaining the experience and information—and is easy and relatively low-cost to deliver to the customer. That is what makes it such a great product for us, as entrepreneurs, to offer.

Everyone has life experience, training, and skills that others don’t have. Everyone knows something that others want to know, or can do something that others want to learn.

That’s how I know you have an info-product inside you, everyone does. Your first assignment is to decide which of your many gifts you are going to offer to the world!

Does that mean you have to be able to write a book? No. Not necessarily. I’m talking about what is known as USP…Unique Selling Position. Your USP might be that you have detailed knowledge about someone else’s product that you are selling as an affiliate.

It could be that humorous way you present the information you have collected on some subject of interest, or the fact that you offer the best customer service available for the service you offer. You may offer the same products that others are also selling, but find your own unique market for them.

But whatever you decide to use for your information product, your USP, you need to find one. If you were to research the online marketers who are honestly making the money they claim to be earning online, you would discover that they all have a USP. Your USP IS your product; however you package and deliver it.

If you are working a Multi-level Marketing program or one of the BIBs (Business in a Box), you are not left out of this concept, but you may have to work harder to figure out how to be unique.

You can still go for the niche marketing idea. Find a group of people who aren’t usually reached by these kinds of businesses, or aim your advertising at people in the countries that are just now going online.

You may, of course, actually write a book, e-book or training course and sell it. As you probably know, many are making good money doing just that. The list of helpful software and online publishers is growing every day.

But even if you write your own product or design your own software, you will still need a well-thought-out USP to stand out in the crowd. It’s like your business plan—you need a firm foundation before you can build your future online success.

Find out how easily you can create best selling info-products, one after another…

The Lost Art Of Pelmanism

Posted September 22nd, 2007. Filed under Self Development

We recently learned a new word and it’s ‘Pelmanism’. Not to sure if it’s named after a person, but whoever he is, Joe Vitale seems to be very big fan of his. And this person is no longer in this world. Your first clue is this person apparently is one generation ahead of Napoleon Hill. Get the drift? He has written 12 volumes of long-lost information published in 1919 on the subjects of knowledge, senses, purpose, concentration, mental connection, imagination, originality, the pursuit of truth, personality and many more. If you are very much into self-development, we’re sure you won’t want to miss this one. Discover the Lost Art of Pelmanism.

Back in December 2006, Nick Mazza and Kyle Johnson conceived and created adgridwork as a simple, free and effective way of quickly promoting a website. At the time, advertising options were limited to paying for banner ads or text links, using a contextual service (like AdSense), or manually contacting and trading links with other webmasters. Thus, adgridwork becomes a free, open advertising network that allows bloggers, small businesses and other website owners to submit their ads into, and in exchange for serving their ads on thousands of highly targeted and related sites, they are also required to serve ads for other users. The end result would be a giant community of websites that would all help one another promote and market their products, ideas and services for free!

To all writers and non-writers out there, now is the time to start digging up those creative writing skills back. With modern communication technology comes the popularity of information-based marketing, which is one of the oldest and most effective techniques in getting targeted prospects to sites and converting them into buyers. This is why article writing, submissions and publications are also getting popular.

There are already many tools that people can use to make the process of distributing their articles more easily. Though this is invaluable in getting the contents more exposure, which is only half of the story.

Let us take a look first at the common mistakes that some people make before submitting their contents to article directories:

1. Confusing the reason to promote the articles with the reason to write them.

In article writing, there are three key benefits why you are promoting them; branding, lead generation and promotion, which are all part of your optimization efforts. But there is only one reason why you write an article, and that is to inform your audience. If the article is not focused on this primary and most important purpose, it will fail to achieve the three promotion benefits because no one will be interested in reading them or passing them on to others.

You need to figure out first how to get people to read what is in your article, then make them click on your resource box. You can achieve this by producing better content.

2. Failing to maximize the promotional opportunities of article marketing.

You may know already that your articles can help you generate additional links back to your site. But do you know that you can get more visitors and better search engine results from that same articles?

Mention keywords at strategic places. Just be sure not to overdo them. Some are even using anchor text which is also an effective method. But it is important to know that majority of the directories are not able to support this and overdoing keyword density can cost you.

Remember that is not only about the links back to your site. Part of doing well in your article marketing is getting picked up by publishers with a large number of audiences and gaining the ability of leveraging other brands because of the quality of your work. Better search engine results also are great benefits.

But these things do not put much money in your pocket. There are other factors that can turn your article marketing efforts into an opportunity that can boost your earnings, not just increase the number of visitors to your site. We will be going over some of those methods in future letters and lessons. As a hint, one of the best performing affiliate programs for me right now is eBay!

Start out with a plan and see to it that your article will serve the function that you intended it to have.

3. Publishing content that does not help your readers.

Maybe in the process of writing articles, you are thinking that all that is you wanted is links back to your site. And any visitors it can generate are fine.

Guess what? Not all article banks and directories are going to accept your content automatically. Oftentimes, they have some guidelines and specifications on the articles that they are accepting.

You can double the number of sites you can submit to by writing articles that the directories want to share with other people. All it takes is one publisher with a hundred thousand readers to increase your potential audience overnight.

Write the articles that publishers want in their publications if you want your article marketing to work the most effective way for you. This also means you have to obey the standard guidelines, spell checks, researching on a good topic and even hiring a writer to produce a good content on your behalf. Do you really think that people who are submitting 20 articles a day to the article directories are doing it themselves?

In the end, it is all really a matter of choice on your part. You can start getting a little exposure from increased links back but on a very basic level, or enjoy massive exposure from a little extra time making quality content.

It will be your choice. You may not be aware of the fact that an article submitted on directories is not meant to have the same level of exposure as highly-targeted content ones geared on a narrow group of people.

Learn the difference between these two and it will surely help you know what kinds of articles to write and to submit.

Is your squeeze page making a loss instead of profit?

Posted September 21st, 2007. Filed under List Building

Everybody is raving about how great squeeze pages are, and how they are the current trend of list building, and yet they are getting horrible results!

If you are using a squeeze page right now, you are probably slashing your profits in half, lowering your relationship with your list, and not getting half the results that you want.

Want to know why? It’s simply because you aren’t testing to see what works and what doesn’t.

How do you know that the headline that you wrote is actually getting your more opt-ins instead of chasing visitors away?

How do you know that the audio that you added isn’t disgusting people and sending them away with a horrible flavor in your mouth?

How do you know that your offer is so weak that people actually laugh when they see it?

You probably don’t, and all because you aren’t split testing different variations.

Now, I don’t blame you at all. It’s not easy to split test. If you don’t know how to program how are you supposed to figure out all that funky PHP, MySQL, and other database stuff to really watch your results?

Sure, you could buy some tracking software, but then you have to figure out how to install it, and then how to use it!

Well, I wanted to let you know that there is something that can finally help you solve this problem, something that will increase the effectiveness of your squeeze pages.

It’s right here.

Matthew Glanfield has put together an awesome piece of software that allows you to create professional squeeze pages at the push of a button.

With his software you can create squeeze pages in less than 5 minutes. However, the real power comes in the fact that the software automatically tests and tracks various headlines and other features to create the perfect profit-pulling squeeze page.

Amazon releases all-new Amazon Widgets.

Posted September 21st, 2007. Filed under Contextual Advertising

The Amazon Associates program has launched Amazon Widgets. Amazon Widgets are small, visually dynamic, easily configurable tools that allow you to feature products from Amazon on your website, blog or social networking pages. In as little as one minute you can populate a widget with your favorite Amazon products, your comments about those products, and select from a set of color and layout themes to match both your mood and website.

Widgets are an extension to the classic Associate Links offerings and likewise, you can earn referral fees of up to 10% on these new widgets.

These are the types of widgets available:

Slideshow: Pick your favorite images from the Amazon catalog and present them as a stylish slideshow. Showcase your favorite CD cover art, present recently read books, or even reveal your favorite breakfast cereals. Slideshow also lets you overlay your comments on the selected images.

My Favorites: Express yourself by recommending and commenting on your favorite products from Amazon. This widget lets everyone know how you feel and what you like by showing product images, information and your own comments.

Quick Linker: Quickly build links to products on Amazon without having to visit Associates Central. By inserting a set of custom HTML tags as you write your content, you can quickly link to products on Amazon. For example, typing “Harry Potter” would link to a Search Results page on Amazon for the term “Harry Potter”. This is a great new tool that will be handy for all Associates and bloggers that write their own content.

Wish List: Display your Amazon Wish List on your site and let friends, family, and others know what you want.

Product Cloud: Take tag clouds or word clusters one step further by showing Product Clouds. Product Clouds engage site visitors by displaying product titles that are relevant to the content of the page in a cloud or cluster with the most popular product bolded. Site visitors can click on the title to directly visit the product page on Amazon.

Amazon Unbox Video Previewer: Show movie studio and TV network previews for a wide range of new release and classic movies or television shows available from the Amazon Unbox video download service. Users can select by attributes, such as genre, for previews they want to show on their websites.

You can see all of the above widgets in action on the Associates blog. Stay tuned for additional widgets in the future.
