Play war game and earn cash!
Nelson Tan
As serious as you may treat Internet Marketing as a business, it is still all about having fun and living life happily. Gaming trends among young adults are gaining pace worldwide as it is being treated more like a professional sport. Well, I’m looking forward to someone writing an e-book on “How to be a millionaire Quake player!” Truth is, pervasive monetization of this “sport” has a long way to go before more people can depend on it to eat rice. Still, signs are encouraging. The Economic Development Board of Singapore has just announced its interest to hold regular, big-scale events like Cyberathlete Professional League (CPL) in the years to come.
The reason for this post is I just came across a site called—huh, would you believe it—Wealth Wars. Play a war game and STEAL REAL money into your coffers. You earn directly from the game itself or through referring friends. The funds come from advertising dollars. It looks kinda primitive than other gaming sites but it gives you an idea how monetization is enforced as an economy.
Well, there are many creative ways to make money on the Internet. It’s only a matter of whether the model works or not.
