The List Machine: What's It All About?

by Nelson Tan

This article is dated 1st April 2005.

2 weeks ago, I introduced a new list-building tool in a Great Red Notice urging you to take a closer look at this unique system.

For those who did sign up, you must have studied the forward-reverse matrix system like it is the big flavour of the day.

At least, what happened is that I was beginning to see 5 unknown names inside my account, mainly placed in the reverse matrix in week 1, out of a total of 15 opt-ins. I supposed the system is 'kicking in'.

As of 10th June 2005:

What's so special about this tool? Other systems like ListDotCom and Residual Opt-In Profits allowed you to build a list from people sending to your affiliate URL by you. The List Machine adds subscribers to your list (your "downline") through the traffic sent by ALL users…you can trust that this particular program builds your list without relying solely on your own effort. It's LEVERAGE in the form of spillovers.

I want to tell you what really happened. On the 15th of March, I read and re-read what it's all about and I thought it's another safelist-type of program where you typically sign up a number of interested participants (say, 9) and then you can e-mail your message to an equal number (that is 9) of participants in a random manner.

But there's something about the dual-matrix technology it employs that makes it interesting…more on that later. So I register myself anyway and cross my fingers with a wait-and-see attitude…

I was partly wrong about the safelist theory. The 'bonus system' states that you can randomly e-mail 10 to 15 times the number of participants you can sign up:

10 Direct Referrals = 100 Random Prospects Per Mailing
25 Direct Referrals = 275 Random Prospects Per Mailing
50 Direct Referrals = 600 Random Prospects Per Mailing
100 Direct Referrals = 1300 Random Prospects Per Mailing
250 Direct Referrals = 3500 Random Prospects Per Mailing
500 Direct Referrals = 7500 Random Prospects Per Mailing

On the 16th of March, I had a couple of new sign-ups and it's all thanks to you. Of course, it is only crucial to start a promotion by simply telling people about it. However, this very message is the FIRST time I ever drafted to inform you The List Machine does what it says and it gave me 5 sign-ups for which I did absolutely nothing to invite them at all. I checked their names and I don't know them.

It has been week 2 already, and I got word The List Machine has over 6500 members as of today.

I do hope your promotional results are as good as mine as soon as possible, but before you are ready to tap on this huge size of people…

"When will my list start to build bigger?"

As soon as more members of The List Machine start to recruit new members, each list will grow larger and larger. Right now a handful of the most active promoters are bringing in the majority of members. This is great for them, but they can only do so much for the system as a whole. These top promoters now have access to 2000, 3000, even 5000 leads to mail to. However, they have this access because they really jump-started their matrix by doing some personal promotion. I really can't stress this enough.

Yes, because this is a matrix you could in theory have a list built for you purely through the efforts of your upline through spillover. However, this is the slowest way possible for you to build your list. Spillover effects can only be felt more evidently and exponentially when your downline network grows in size.

"What can I do to grow my list quicker?"

If you can find your passion in this, consistently promote and recruit just a little bit for yourself, and watch the results just snowball a massive list of leads for you.

As with everything that you do in business, there must always be a definition for a goal and a result. The List Machine is a "3×" matrix, so if each member brought in just 3 free members everyone would have a great prospect list.

Also, I think that some people might be under the impression that if they recruit 5 people, then they will only have those 5 people to mail to. That is not entirely true. First of all if you recruit 5 people as a free member, you gain an entire level in the matrix that you can mail to. So... instead of being able to mail to levels 1-5 in the matrix, you can mail to levels 1-6.

Sign up now, then login to The List Machine Forum to read a sticky that will impress you with its forward-reverse matrix theory explanation.

Then download Jason Mangrum's Instant Traffic Formula report. It is the first report to involve The List Machine as part of his traffic generation game plan, and an excellent one too.

As with all other traffic programs involving mass mailing, there's absolutely no effectiveness in selling something straight away unless 1) you can target a very specific market, and 2) there is a cause for urgency.

You will always do better giving out freebies in exchange of the recipients' e-mail addresses through a lead-capture page. What you must continually practice is to create a funnel system like this:

traffic programs lead capture autoresponder list

so that you are able to qualify interested people into loyal subscribers and buyers. Why? It is always better to mail several times to the same folks who are willing to give you a more positive response than to randomly mail what most others wouldn't care.

Think of a game plan of what you can best do to create such a funnel system.

By the way, if you need to use this article for your promotion word-for-word, copy it and use it. When you get 10,000 members under you, tell me about it. Let's make it work.
