How
To Persuade And Influence Your Target Audience
by
Mike Jezek
In
this article you will learn how to convince people to believe
you so they'll feel compelled to act on your sales copy and
marketing campaigns.
Always
remember...
"The success of your persuasion and influence depends upon
whether your target audience believes YOU."
To
make sure your target audience believes what you're saying,
you need to utilize psychological tactics that make them perceive
you as someone they can trust and therefore feel comfortable
buying from.
Here's
a noteworthy maxim:
"If
you can get people to trust you, you have influence over them.
If you have influence over them, you can persuade them. If you
can persuade them to act on your suggestions, you can get them
to buy from you."
The
following are powerful Psychological Selling Tactics that you
can employ *today* to ratchet up the believability of your marketing.
A)
Testimonials: Having others sing your accolades
is far more powerful than any boasting you could do. Make it
a consistent routine to get testimonials. However, never, ever
make up testimonials. Unless you want to be brutalized by the
law.
B)
Endorsements: Anytime you can get a celebrity
or a big name that your target market immediately recognizes
and admires, you can leverage their influence over your target
audience to persuade them to buy your products and services.
C)
Facts, Statistics, Numbers: This one is a no-brainer.
By backing up your claims with numbers, facts and statistics
people are absolutely compelled to believe you.
D)
Case Histories: This one is similar to testimonials
but it's you telling a story about how your product or service
solved a problem for a customer.
E)
Demonstration Of Your Product: You see this
one in infomercials all the time. Show your product or service
in action and the actual results it produces. Give before and
after photos that clearly demonstrate what your product can
do. If you're in business opportunities, show credit card statements
revealing how much money your business opportunity is making
for you, then tell your target audience that they can do it
too because you'll show them how.
F)
Consistency: Show and tell your target audience
how your business/product/service has been successfully used
for years. Examples: "Over 750 clients served", "Serving
car dealerships for 3 generations now." You get the idea.
G)
Appearance: The more professional the appearance
of your website, your direct mail and marketing communications,
the sooner people will believe you. This is a huge mistake most
entrepreneurs and marketers starting out make. Because they
oftentimes try to cut corners on their spending, their material
and websites lack a professional appearance. Consequently their
sales are poor (by the way, if you want killer web design, Sunny
Chen can craft web design that sells up a storm for you. She
was the web designer for Mark Joyner's famed Aesop.com. Note:
I'm not getting any kick back from this. I'm so happy with Sunny's
work that you should know about her. Contact her at: http://www.bakeasteak.com
or sunjchen@sbcglobal.net).
H)
Honesty & Integrity: In everything you
do, you must be a person of integrity and honesty. This is common
sense too. If you feel that someone you're dealing with is an
honest individual, you'll feel comfortable doing business with
them. Be honest in all your business dealings!
By
now, you're armed to the teeth with tactics that'll convince
people that they should take the time to listen to what you
have to say. Because you can now do that, you have a solid foundation
from which to effectively persuade and influence others.
