Future Pacing

by Mike Jezek

Today, you're going to acquire the power to tap into the imagination of your prospects, their subconscious mind and turn on their buying emotions.

You can do that with a simple technique called Future Pacing.

Here's how it works. You simply paint a picture of what the future will be like for Mr. Prospect after he buys your product or service.

To effectively make this work, you need to appeal to three key modalities of sensory perception. They are sight, audio, and tactile.

Research has shown that the majority of people fall into the sight category, then the audio category and lastly tactile.

This means that most people primarily experience their world via sight. They're visual people. They interpret events more easily in pictures and images.

The next group, audio oriented people, prefer to talk it out.

Lastly, the tactile group wants to *experience* what you're selling. They want tangible samples and proof of its results.

So, this begs the question. If you're crafting a marketing campaign using the power of the printed word how do you appeal to these three sensory modalities?

You simply use words that appeal to each modality.

Simply weave the following words in the categories below into your marketing:

VISUAL

Notice ...
See ...
You see,
Look ...
Watch this,
Can you see ... ?
Picture ...
Imagine ...
Envision ...
Do you see ... ?
Clearly ...

AUDIO

Listen ...
Listen closely ...
I'm going to tell you ...
Did you hear that?
Sounds ...
I hear you.

TACTILE

Feel ...
Taste ...
Tough ...
Touch ...
Hard ...
Feel ...
Grab ...
Tackle ...
Put in your hands ...

Now you have the right words with which to paint pictures of Mr. Prospect's future with your product or service.

Take these words and sprinkle them throughout your marketing campaigns. And craft stories showing what the future will look like for your target audience.

Examples of future pacing to get your ideals flowing:

"Fast forward your life 5 years from now where will you be if you didn't use this service? What will have happened to your business when...?"

"Picture using this software to put your entire Internet business on auto-pilot. Think about how much free time you'll have. You'll be able to spend more time with your family, play golf go on vacations. The choice is yours when you put our XYZ software in your hands today."

"Let's look into your future John. It's 3 years from now. Because you bought our X, you are now experiencing X. How does that feel to you? Listen, if you like how that future looks, you can make it happen now by tackling this opportunity while it's still available to you."

By now, I'm sure you get the idea.
