Best Ways To Market Your Affiliate Program

by Cody Moya

Many affiliate program newbies seem to think that the only way to market an affiliate program is through banner ads. After all, there certainly seems to be plethora of affiliate program promoting banner ads out there.

Even so, the banner ad is actually quite a poor way to promote anything, and it will continue to become less and less useful as more and more web browsers incorporate technology which blocks banner ads, and more and more web users learn to ignore such ads or close them immediately.

If you do decide to use banner ads, it is important that the ad link to a single, simple signup page. Using your squeeze page in a banner ad is the best way to use such ads.

There are, however many better ways to advertise an affiliate program, and this article will explore some of the most effective, and least expensive, methods of promoting your affiliate program.

One of the very best methods of promoting an affiliate program is through targeted e-mail ads to a targeted, previously created list of subscribers. Creating a qualified list of subscribers is one of the best ways to market your affiliate program. The beauty of an e-mail list is that it can be used to market for a number of different affiliates, as long as they sell the same sorts of products.

E-zines and articles are also excellent, low cost, high return methods of advertising an affiliate program. Creating articles, or buying private label articles at low cost from such sources as Your Own Articles, is a great way to spread your message and drive people to your affiliate program.

For instance, your initial article can be published throughout the web through a publisher or article submission service. As each new reader reviews the useful and interesting content you have provided, he or she is presented with your resource box. The resource box is a short block of text that contains your website address, a one or two line description of your website and your name. Ideally, the link provided will be that for your squeeze page.

When the visitor arrives at your squeeze page, he or she is presented with a single page containing a subscription, or opt-in form, as well as a free offer for a report, newsletter or similar item of value. This opt-in form will form the basis of your subscriber list, and give you a list of subscribers to whom you can market your affiliate program.

Online newsletters are another great way to market an affiliate program. Using newsletters is similar to using e-zines and articles, and the effect is the same. In exchange for your providing the newsletter editor with free content he or she can use, you are permitted to insert a short ad into the body of the newsletter.

Again, that ad will point readers to your squeeze page, and that squeeze page will in turn be used to build your list of subscribers. That list of subscribers can then be used to market to a targeted list of potential buyers for your affiliates' products.
