Panic!
The one-day millionaire
god has never sounded like he lost his cool. According to John
Reese, Google is changing the rules for Adwords again. Here's
what he has to say:
"What I am writing to tell you about is VERY IMPORTANT.
Right now Google is making some CRAZY changes to their AdWords
system. They are going and manually reviewing the landing pages
of their advertisers and in many cases BOOTING PEOPLE from their
system.
In many cases, they aren't actually terminating people from the
AdWords system but they will raise the minimum click price for
their keywords to like $5.00 per click, essentially running them
off.
WHAT ON EARTH IS GOOGLE DOING?
I've now seen firsthand that Google is turning away people that
were spending over $10,000/MONTH with AdWords. Yes, basically
telling them, "We no longer want your money go advertise
somewhere else."
It's truly INSANE.
Maybe you've been one of the unlucky ones that this has happened
to. If not, be prepared for it.
Here's the deal...
It appears as if their latest changes are mostly affecting SQUEEZE
PAGES. In other words, landing pages that go for the opt-in before
showing a sales letter or the bulk of the site's content (although
it's happening to some sales letter pages too).
For a publicly traded company that's under tremendous pressure
to continously generate more profit from quarter to quarter, this
surely seems like an IDIOTIC move on their part.
OR DOES IT?
My buddy Frank Kern has an interesting 'theory' about why they
are doing it. Google is supposed to be coming out with a cost-per-action
(CPA) offering very soon. This will allow advertisers to pay Google
on a cost-per-action basis, such as by paying PER OPT-IN SUBSCRIBER.
I personally believe they are moving in this direction because
of all the CLICK FRAUD. Anyway...
Frank's theory is that Google is very against landing pages that
are focused on collecting opt-ins because they hope to SELL THEM
with their new CPA offering.
Either way, something crazy is going on with Google AdWords and
it's WIPING OUT some marketers' revenue. It totally sucks.
This is yet another reason to LEVERAGE your traffic from multiple
places and not have all your eggs in one basket.
If you use AdWords for traffic don't panic. We'll figure out
a solution to all of this and find a way to make it very profitable—that's
almost always the case everytime there is a major change. What
seems horrible to some marketers becomes a major OPPORTUNITY to
others.
I am in the process of fully investigating this situation and
as soon as I have any solid information to share with you about
possible solutions, etc. I'll be in touch about them.

Amazing Ways To Jumpstart Your Sales
1. Find a
strategic business partner. Look for ones that have the
same objective. You can trade leads, share marketing info, sell
package deals, etc.
2. Brand your name and business. You can easily
do this by just writing articles and submitting them to e-zines
or web sites for republishing.
3. Start an auction on your website. The type
of auction could be related to the theme of your site. You'll
draw traffic from auctioneers and bidders.
4. Remember to take a little time out of your day or
week to brainstorm. New ideas are usually the difference
between success and failure.
5. Model other successful business or people.
I'm not saying out right copy them, but practice some of the same
habits that have made them succeed.
6. Take risks to improve your business. Sometimes
businesses don't want to advertise unless it's free, sometimes
you have to spend money to get results.
7. Include emotional words in your advertisements.
Use ones like love, security, relief, freedom, happy, satisfaction,
fun, etc.
8. Ask people online to review your website.
You can use the comments you get to improve your website or you
may turn the reviewer into a customer.
9. Outsource part of your workload. You'll
save on most employee costs. You could out source your secretarial
work, accounting, marketing, etc.
10. Combine a product and service together in a package
deal. It could increase your sales. If you're selling
a book, offer an hour of consulting with it.

Yourself Into A Winner by Emmanuel Segui
In my previous article,
I told you a story about this great man, Vash Young.
I would like now to tell you how he transformed his life.
Let's take a look at what died within the old Vash Young:
• A demoralizing inferiority complex
• A sickening feeling of being trapped by life
• Despair over my lack of education
• The drinking and smoking habits
• Secret doubts and fears
• Moodiness—self-torment—frustration
• Getting easily upset and annoyed
• Envying the other fellow's success
• Anxiety—worry—discontent
• Fretting and stewing about a job
• Wasting time and money
• General hopelessness with regard to the future
How did I get rid of all that happiness-destroying junk?
At this point, I will confine myself to one line of reasoning
which was of tremendous help to me.
In the first place, I concluded that I was not the individual
creator of such thoughts, emotions and habits and that God would
never inflict on His offspring any such way of life.
Therefore, I decided that this trash was an insult to God, and
I resolved that these insults would no longer be hurled at the
Creator through Vash Young. I let them all die within me for lack
of a witness.
The Savior said, "Except a man be born again, he cannot
see the kingdom of God." A rebirth is exactly what happened
to me. Out of the ashes of the death just referred to, a new personality
was born, made up of the following ingredients:
• Self-forgetfulness
• Freedom from drinking and smoking
• Health and wisdom—not sickness and ignorance
• A feeling of joy and independence
• Gratitude—reverence—humility
• Rejoicing in the other fellow's success
• The giving habit instead of the getting habit Poise—patience—love
• Sensible living and working habits
• The will to succeed
To my amazement I discovered that such an outlook on life, consisting
of enduring traits of character which had made men and women outstanding
and successful down through the ages, was free even to a person
like me.
You deserve a great life and this is what you're going to have

Motivation by John Monteiro
John is Nelson's
friend within toastmasters circle and an American sports fan.
He wrote the following musing:
It is not unusual
for me to talk animatedly about sportsmen. After all, a lot of
my adrenaline energy is derived from the greatness that sportsmen
share, with how they achieve moutain-high milestones (Barry Bonds),
and how they overcome insurmountable odds (Lance Armstrong); add
to that personal follies (Kobe Bryant) and personal illness (Magic
Johnson).
Often a night, I wonder with sleepy eyes, before I fall into
my own deep sleep, what makes them who they are. How they spur
themselves on. How they become so motivated.
The human spirit, is undoubtedly difficult to comprehend, and
easy to misinterpret. There is no logic that can parrallel the
out-of-this world achivements that we pull off; most of them far
beyond what we set out to achieve. This makes me wonder, if we
can do it all, by ourselves, by sheer motivation and perseverance,
all the time, or at least, often and consistently enough.
Is the human spirit justifiably enough?
Sportsmen toughen up both physical attributes and mental aspects
of the game they play, day in, day out and dream of success night
after night. Endlessly, they pursue their goal by spurring themselves
to a new level. How they are motivated, I dare not comment, but
I do wonder, why some of them seem to be able to do it all by
themselves, just by sheer determination. Is it possible to transfer
this same straightforward yet vigorous mindset to us all?
I am changing my own mindset, to believe that size and strength
is not as important in this fast and furious world. Maybe speed
and agility, creativity and flexibility can overcome the might
of size and strength. Maybe other mindset changes should include
laughing when I feel like crying, fasting when I hunger. Maybe
I shouldn't live as if today was the last, but live as if today
marks the beginning of a new era.
The way Tiger Woods won this year's British Open started since
his days as a toddler, when his father drilled him on the mental
game of golf as early as age 4. And he won it for both his father
and his relationship with his father, that stretched back to the
days when they talked the talk and walked the talk, in the backyard
where the first golf lessons were introduced to young Tiger.
He didn't win it per se, nor did he win it by himself, or for
himself. It was motivation redefining itself.
Yet "Self" was never the driver in Tiger's golf game.
It was the upward swing that his father propelled him since age
4. Even when Tiger reached the bunker depths of losing his father
recently, his undeniable motivation was driven by his old man.
Maybe self-motivation should take a step back. Our unfailing
love for our family can take us not just to putt birdies, but
to aim for the eagle and beyond...
